Queries for the Department of Immigration can be e-mailed directly to the team in efforts to improve customer service, the Government announced.
From June 1, anyone who e-mails the department with questions can expect a response within two business days.
Enquiries relating to work permits can be sent to workpermit@gov.bm
Questions about British Overseas Territories Citizen Bermuda passports can be directed to botcpassport@gov.bm.
Queries about Bermudian status and Permanent Resident’s Certificate applications can be submitted to statusprc@gov.bm.
Jason Hayward, the Minister of Economy and Labour, said: “The introduction of these dedicated e-mail channels reflects the department’s ongoing commitment to improving customer service and making immigration services more accessible and responsive to the public.
“We have listened to the concerns and feedback from our community and this initiative is another important step towards delivering a more efficient and customer focused service.”
Complaints relating to employers or employees who may be abusing the work permit policy or immigration laws can be reported to the department’s compliance section by calling the Hamilton office on 246-8059 or the airport office on 444-1050.
Complaints can also be submitted anonymously by calling the immigration hotline on 296-5202 or by e-mailing immigrationcomplaints@gov.bm.
When submitting complaints, members of the public were encouraged to provide sufficient information to allow investigations to proceed.
