No new Covid-19 cases, total remains 139

All 53 Covid-19 test results that came back yesterday were clear, the Ministry of Health said last night.

The number of confirmed cases in Bermuda remained at 139 with the death toll unchanged at nine.

A total of nine people aged between 66 and 91 are in hospital, two of them in critical care.

Another 30 per were under public health monitoring and 91 people have recovered.

The average age of confirmed Covid-19 cases was 61 and the ages ranged from 18 to 101.

A total of ten cases were on-island transmissions with an unknown contact and another seven cases were under investigation.

The health ministry said 41 cases came in from overseas and 81 were on-island transmissions with a known contact.

It added that Bermuda's country status remained as “local transmission — cluster of cases”.

Kim Wilson, the Minister of Health, said: “I'd like to remind the public that persons who are uninsured and have health concerns or need to speak to a GP, can access the Argus-sponsored TeleNurse service through the Covid-19 helpline.

“This is a pilot programme and we encourage eligible persons to reach out to seek assistance.”
