Taxi driver Binns is a big hit with Bermuda's visitors
Seventy-five-year-old American visitor Betty Larrabee and her daughter, Linda Blair, wear their feelings with pride.
And our picture shows just what they feel about their favourite Bermudian cabbie Quinton Binns.
The pair's T-shirts -- complete with a picture of Mr. Binns next to his cab -- proudly tell the world: "I've driven with Quinton in his taxi.'' To Mr. Binns the gesture is gear...eat, a welcome pat-on-the-back during difficult times for his industry.
"Too often we seem to be in the headlines for the wrong reasons,'' he said, referring to the recent spate of taxi robberies.
"I've got one of the T-shirts and so does my wife, Marie. I think they're absolutely fabulous.'' Ms Blair, of Mystic, Connecticut, explained the T-shirts were made by a friend, Betty Brown, also a visitor.
"She took the pictures of Quinton in May at Ariel Sands. We're really proud to wear these shirts.'' As Mr. Binns posed with his two friends for Royal Gazette photographer David Skinner, he said with a smile: "I'm like a thorn stuck between two roses.'' Ms Larrabee, from Tampa, Florida, however, disagreed.
"Quinton is a wonderful man. We come to Bermuda regularly and we wouldn't ride with anyone else.'' She added: "It is my 75th birthday on Monday and this is a great way to celebrate.''
