A teenager is recovering from stab wounds after he was attacked at a neighbour?s home following a fight with an older teenage boy at the address in Pembroke. The 15-year-old was stabbed in the right-hand side of his body and was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital by taxi where he underwent medical treatment following the assault at 1.50 a.m. on Sunday.
According to Police the teenager had been fighting with the other boy at a neighbour?s home and was injured.
The suspect Police are seeking is described as 17, 5ft 5in to 5ft 7in, slimly built and with a dark brown complexion. The injured teenager is now recovering in a general ward at KEMH.
Driver, 26, arrested
A 26-year-old woman was arrested by Police on suspicion of drink-driving after being spotted swerving along South Road in Paget in the early hours of Saturday.
A mobile Police patrol was on duty on South Road at 4.45 a.m. when officers saw the motorbike swerving across the road and pulled over the rider, noticing she was unsteady on her feet, had glazed eyes and smelled of intoxicants.
She was arrested and taken to Hamilton Police Station where she failed an alco-analyser test.
Burglars strike
Two burglaries from opposite ends of the Island were reported to Police on Thursday.
Police responded to a complaint that two wallets containing $130 in cash and personal items were stolen from a home in Tankard Lane, Sandys parish. The incident occurred between 11 p.m. on Wednesday and 6.30 am on Thursday.
At 7.30 p.m. a complainant on Wellington Back Road, St. George?s stated that between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Thursday someone entered her home and stole a DVD player and a Sanyo Stereo. Police are investigating.
Ship?s emergency call
A refrigerated cargo ship, on its way to Lithuania, had to pause briefly near Bermuda to allow an injured crew member to get medical attention.
The 44-year-old Russian man dislocated his shoulder during a spat of rough weather at sea, according to Bermuda Harbour Radio. At around 3 p.m. on Friday he was transferred from the onto a small local vessel and brought into Grotto Bay where he was put into an ambulance and taken to hospital.
The was carrying a load of frozen chickens between Houston, Texas and Lithuania.
The 7,300 ton ship continued its journey, without the injured party, shortly after he was safely brought ashore.
