A teenager spent her third day missing from a government care home yesterday after she disappeared for the sixth time in less than two months.Police appealed for help to find Destiny Winters, who left the Brangman Home in Smith’s “without permission” on Friday evening.The 14-year-old had returned to the home, run by the Department of Child and Family Services, on Friday afternoon after she failed to return after school the day before.Police appeals to trace her were also issued last Tuesday and Wednesday.A BPS spokesman said last week that at least two other requests for public assistance were made since November 18, 2019.He explained then: “Usually, information is gathered from the relevant government care facility personnel, which is then passed on to police patrols to assist in locating her.”The spokesman added: “The Bermuda Police Service continues to liaise with the Department of Child and Family Services regarding her welfare.”Police said yesterday that Destiny was last seen wearing a black rain jacket, shorts and black Nike sneakers.She was said to be brown complexioned, about 5ft 6in tall and 130lb with her hair now dyed black, worn in a short and curly style.The BPS added that she was known to visit areas of Pembroke, including Fentons Drive, Parsons Road, St Augustine Hill, Middletown, One Way Deepdale and The Glebe Road.The DCFS and the Ministry of Legal Affairs, which oversees the department, did not respond to a request for comment yesterday.A police spokesman added that Donald Place, 75, who was reported missing on Sunday, returned home safe and well at about 8.15pm that day.• Anyone with information was asked to call police on 295-0011 or the government care facility on 292-3699.
