First Ewan Sampson scholar announced
from the Ewan Sampson Trust.
The award was set up in honour of IT enthusiast Ewan who had set up his own computer company and had been offered places at four universities when he was tragically killed on a bike last April aged just 17.
Del-Keesha is taking a Bachelor of Applied Arts (IT) at Mount St. Vincent University in Nova Scotia.
She said: "I'm honoured to get a scholarship in Ewan's name. He was a very good person who did a lot of voluntary work.'' Ewan Sampson Trust secretary Lynne Winfield said: "We chose Del-Keesha because she is so involved in IT.
"She's been working in the systems department of the Bank of Bermuda as well as studying IT for her degree.
"Last year she had a grade point average of 3.95 and this year she's on the Dean's list for academic excellence.'' Fitting tribute: Student Del-Keesha Hanley is handed a cheque for $7,500 which is the first scholarship award from the Ewan Sampson Trust.
