Covid-19: two cases logged, positivity rate drops to 0.2 per cent
Just two coronavirus cases were logged yesterday, health officials revealed tonight.
The infections were among 1,014 results that came back to health officials – a positivity rate of 0.2 per cent.
Both cases were recorded as on-island transmissions with known contacts.
The health ministry announced that 36 people had recovered from infection since the last update.
The number of active cases has dropped to 383, with 14 in hospital, two of them in intensive care.
It is smallest number of active cases since March 28 and the two cases reported is the lowest number of daily new infections since March 16.
A total of 369 infected people are being monitored by health officials.
The total number of cases since the pandemic hit last March is 2,429 and 30 people have died.

There have been 1,745 on-island transmission cases, 1,458 with a known contact, 287 with unknown contacts and 390 are under investigation.
A total of 294 infections came in from overseas.
The seven-day average of the real-time reproduction number is 0.51 and Bermuda’s country status remained at “community transmission”.
Kim Wilson, the health minister, said she was pleased the number of active cases was dropping and recoveries were rising.
But she told the public: “However, now is not the time to let our guard down.
“We must continue to follow public health guidelines – do not mix households, including in the workplace, wear a mask, maintain physical distance and wash or sanitise your hands regularly.”
The mobile vaccination programme moves to Sandys Secondary Middle School today from 10am to 2pm, and over same hours on Saturday at the National Sports Centre in Devonshire.
A free bus service from 9.30am to 2pm will be on offer in Somerset today for people who want to get the vaccine.
Buses will pick up passengers on a route starting from the school, heading right on East Shore Road, down Sound View Road, turning right on Middle Road, right on Scott’s Hill Road and back to the school.
It will run every 15 minutes, with the last bus leaving the school at 2.15pm.
Minibus transport will also be provided and can be booked at 533-5903 from 10am to 1.30pm.
