ShoreLink goes offline in latest application update
A government app for mobile fare payment is now operational without internet connection.
The ShoreLink update, available now, allows passengers to check and accept mobile tickets and fares on board, with or without Wi-Fi or mobile data.
Owen Darrell, the Minister of Tourism, Transport, Culture and Sport, said this came out of a commitment to “continually improving the public transport experience for both residents and visitors”.
He added: “This latest ShoreLink update provides added convenience by allowing eligible fares to be validated even when an internet connection is unavailable.
“It is another practical enhancement that makes travelling on Bermuda's public transport network easier and more reliable.”
Passengers were asked to update the ShoreLink app to access the offline fare validation function, as well as other improvements.
A ministry spokeswoman said ShoreLink’s technical partners would continue to be consulted to strengthen and improve the platform.
