Ferry repairs set to be completed
Urgent work to repair a ferry serving the Pink Route is hoped to be completed before the end of the week.
The route, which services Warwick and Paget, was suspended late last month for urgent repairs to be carried out on the ferry Georgia, which was out of service due to a mechanical fault.
A spokeswoman for the Department of Marine and Ports Services said: “It is anticipated that repair work will be completed by the end of the week.
“Marine and Ports Services apologises for any inconvenience and thanks the public for their patience and understanding.”
Mechanical problems have plagued the Pink Route ferry service for several years now.
The Government last July restricted operations on the Pink Route to weekdays only with seven scheduled loops along the route per day.
Despite this, the route still experienced several breakdowns throughout the year.
