Kole Hall plays with Micah Richards and Daniel Sturridge
Bermudian striker Kole Hall is playing for a team coached by former Premier League stars Micah Richards and Daniel Sturridge.
Hall is featuring for Deportrio in Baller League UK and has scored once in four appearances for the side in the six-a-side indoor competition.
Deportrio are second in the 12-team league and featuring in the squad alongside Hall is former Premier League player Jay Emmanuel-Thomas, who played for Arsenal, Ipswich, Bristol Rovers and Queens Park Rangers.
Marvin Sordell, who played for Watford, Bolton Wanderers, Charlton Athletic and Burnley is also competing with Hall for a starting spot.
A number of former Premier League stars and celebrities are on the Baller League UK payroll with Ian Wright, Alan Shearer, Jens Lehmann on the sidelines as team managers as is actor Idris Elba, and social media stars and influencers KSI, Angryginge and Mark Goldbridge.
The Baller League originated in Germany in 2024 and was created by entrepreneur Felix Starck with backing from professional footballers Mats Hummels and Lukas Podolski.
It has been lauded for engaging younger audiences through its combination of entertainment and sport.
There are a number of innovations, especially in the final three minutes of each half, which include three v three, long-range goals counting as double and goalkeepers not allowed to use their hands.
Managers also get two wild cards per gameweek, which means they can bring anyone to feature in their team for that match.
There are no corners but if the ball goes off an opposing player and behind the goal three times, a penalty is given.
If a penalty is awarded, a player will do a MLS-style one v one against the goalkeeper with only six seconds on the clock to try and score. Managers can also throw in a white flag to challenge a refereeing decision.
Leagues take place in the UK, Germany and the United States, with the top-four teams in the league qualifying for the semi-finals.
Hall was a regular for Bermuda under Michael Findlay before suffering what was described as a “serious medical condition” that prevented him from playing for Chorley in the National League North in the latter part of the season.
