Autism charity Tomorrow’s Voices is to mark its 13th anniversary by producing custom made face masks.

The early intervention centre launched its Mask Up in Honour of Autism fundraiser to promote its work and promote mask use to cut down the spread of Covid-19.

Thea Furbert, the co-founder and board chairwoman of the charity, said: “Our custom designed Tomorrow’s Voices masks will be a great way for companies, families and friends to support this milestone 13th year and raise funds for Tomorrow’s Voices.

“This fundraiser will also be the launch for showcasing some of our autism awareness line of products and we encourage the community to look out for other products in the near future.

“We hope people will support this initiative to help us to continue to raise awareness about autism and continue our mission to provide one-on-one therapy to individuals living with autism and developmental disabilities.”

All proceeds from sale of the mask will got towards Tomorrow’s Voice programmes.

Tomorrow’s Voices was the brainchild of Ms Furbert and Tricia Simons, now Crow. Both are parents of children with autism.

The charity, based on Happy Valley Road in Pembroke, has grown from helping four children in 2007 to having worked with hundreds of children and the provision over 88,000 hours of therapy to date.

The centre expanded its services to provide therapy to clients aged over 21 earlier this year.

Ms Furbert said: “Tomorrow’s Voice’s overriding goal has always been the same – to provide clients with the skills to assist their inclusion into their neighbourhoods, schools or communities and to provide a better quality of life through early intervention.

“Although our charity has always supported clients over the age of 21, it is wonderful to formalise this support and in the future build additional programs specific to older clients.”

The masks will be sold for $25 through the charity’s website www.tomorrowsvoices.bm, on the Sargasso App in the Tomorrow’s Voices storefront or direct from the charity.

People can also donate $13 to celebrate 13 years of service.

Tomorrow’s Voices thanked the organisations that have assisted in making the campaign a success including the Bermuda-based international charity the Cripps Foundation, Northshore Medical & Aesthetics Centre and Uniquely Yours, a Hamilton clothes and gift store.
