RG Fantasy League: time right to focus on Bournemouth
When it comes to trying to identify players to draft into your team it’s always worth noting teams that have a favourable run of fixtures and in good form.
Step forward Bournemouth, who are unbeaten in their past five games and play out-of-form Sunderland, poor travellers Brentford and struggling Burnley in their next three matches.
Defender James Hill is really cheap but has provided assists, defensive contributions and bonus points lately while budget midfielder Rayan looks to be the next Bournemouth player likely to attract the attention of big clubs.
Be aware that there are two gameweeks this week and the deadline for team changes is 3pm Bermuda time on Friday.
Friday
Wolverhampton Wanderers v Aston Villa (4pm)
Wolves still have work to do if they are to not finish the season with the lowest Premier League points tally in history.
The goals have dried up a little for Villa, who have scored just 11 goals in their ten matches but only Manchester United and Manchester City have conceded fewer goals in that period. So Villa defenders could be the way to go with Ezri Konsa of interest after picking up 13 points in his past two games
Prediction: 1-0
Saturday
Bournemouth v Sunderland (8.30am)
Only Newcastle, Burnley and Tottenham have conceded more goals than Sunderland in the last ten matches and they have scored only six away goals all season.
As well as Hill and Ryan, Eli Kroupi is another great budget pick for Bournemouth, whlle Evanilson is more expensive but should get plenty of chances to find the net this weekend.
Prediction 2-0
Burnley v Brentford (11am)
Only Manchester United, Manchester City and Arsenal have picked up more points than Brentford in the last ten games and they have a nice run of fixtures with Bournemouth, Wolves and Leeds following this game. Dango Outtara is likely to continue racking up the points.
Burnley picked up a point against Chelsea and forward Zian Flemming is starting to catch the eye.
Prediction: 1-1
Liverpool v West Ham (11am)
Liverpool have produced two battling 1-0 away wins in the last couple of league matches and will fancy their chances of another clean sheet. Virgil van Dijk has produced double-figure tallies in both those games.
West Ham may regret not picking up three points against Bournemouth last week and with Fulham, Manchester City and Aston Villa coming up after Liverpool it is difficult to see them racking up the points necessary to stay up. Defender Axel Disasi has made a huge difference to their solidity but this may not be the week to draft him in.
Prediction: 3-1
Newcastle United v Everton (11am)
Everton are the latest team to struggle at home after moving to a new stadium but they would be in the top six if taking into account only their form on the road. Losing Jack Grealish for the season is a blow to their creativity,
Newcastle are still without influential midfielder Bruno Guimaraes and remain inconsistent. Lewis Hall is a hugely promising left back and should get plenty of chances to get forward here. An assist to follow up his goal against Manchester City is possible.
Prediction: 2-1
Leeds United v Manchester City (1.30pm)
Manchester City will try to keep applying the pressure on Arsenal and their defence has tightened up considerably since the arrival of Marc Guehi in the January transfer window. Nico O’Reilly has picked up 30 points in two matches while midfielder Antoine Semenyo remains in good form.
Leeds have lost just one of their past six matches but their players make no particular appeal in this fixture.
Prediction: 0-2
Sunday
Brighton & Hove Albion v Nottingham Forest (10am)
Brighton snapped a streak of six league matches without a win to ease brewing fears of relegation. Midfielder Diego Gomez has caught the eye of late.
Nottingham Forest dominated Liverpool at home in their first match under Vitor Pereira but still lost. They need to pick up wins soon if they are to keep their heads above the relegation zone but midfielder Elliot Anderson remains a consistent points scorer.
Prediction: 1-1
Fulham v Tottenham Hotspur
With just one win in their last ten games Tottenham are coming perilously close to a relegation fight and must again do without Cristian Romero who is suspended. Their injury list remains in double figures and it is difficult to see them scoring goals with interim coach Igor Tudor known for being a defensive coach.
Harry Wilson continues to pick up points for Fulham, while forward Raul Jimenez has scored 24 points in his past three games.
Prediction: 2-1
Manchester United v Crystal Palace (10am)
Michael Carrick is still yet to taste defeat as Manchester United head coach and his side will be heavy favourites to continue that run against a largely out-of-form Palace side.
Defender Diego Dalot has 20 points in three games while midfielders Bruno Fernandes, Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo are also in good form. It will be interesting to see if Benjamin Sesko is rewarded for his two recent goals with a start.
Prediction: 2-0
Arsenal v Chelsea (12.30pm)
Arsenal thrashed their neighbours Tottenham last weekend and Mikel Arteta has a selection headache regarding captain Martin Odegaard, who is fit to start and created an assist in their previous match.
Chelsea coach Leroy Rosenior played defensively at the Emirates in the second leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final and it will be interesting to see if employs the same tactics here.
Prediction: 2-1
