TransAtlantic Q2 revenues more than double
Bermuda-based TransAtlantic Petroleum Ltd. boosted its revenue by more than $11 million in the second quarter of 2010 driven by increased oil production and sales in Turkey.
The company's revenue rose to $18.6 million for the quarter from $7.4 million during the same period last year, climbing to $31 million for the first half of 2010 from $8.8 million for the opening six months of 2009.
The increase was down to first gas sales from its Edirne field in April and increased production from its drilling and workover campaign at the Selmo and Arpatepe oil fields in Turkey.
During the first six months of this year, TransAtlantic sold 315,911 net barrels of crude oil at an average rate of 1,745 barrels per day and 355,438 net thousand cubic feet of natural gas at an average rate of 4,231 thousand cubic feet per day since first production.
In the three months ended June 30, 2010, the company sold 169,931 net barrels of crude oil at an average rate of 1,867 barrels per day and 355,438 net thousand cubic feet per cubic of natural gas at an average rate of 4,231 thousand cubic feet per day since first production.
Gross oil production rose 22 percent compared to the first quarter of 2010, while net barrels sold increased quarter-to-quarter by 16.4 percent.
Costs and expenses were up at $35.7 million in the second quarter from $12.2 million for the same period last year.
The company had $234.7 million in shareholder equity as of June 30, 2010 versus $264.6 million at December 31, 2009.
